The trend for a special beauty in the fashion industry is gaining popularity every day. The most unusual people become models, proving to the whole world that beauty has no boundaries and foundations.
It turned out to be a model and Drew Preston, an American from the state of Nevada, who dreamed of this all her life. Twenty-two-year-old Drew was born with a rare disease called achondroplasia, through the fault of which the girl's height is just over one meter.
All her childhood Drew suffered from bullying and insults from peers. One day, the girl could not stand it and, in search of a better future, dropped everything, having left for Los Angeles. This move became a momentous event in the life of Presty - it was noticed by scouts of modeling agencies and Drew was able to make her dream a reality.
Drew was the only one in her family who was born with dwarfism, so the family, shocked by such an event, unfortunately for the girl, didn’t protect her daughter too much from the attacks of those around her. All these events and engendered in her future model her dream - Drew wanted to feel beautiful and free from a whisper behind her back.
With his photos and his work as a model, Presta wants to prove to the whole world that beauty and sexuality are not only available to people of standard height. “You can be tall, ordinary, or dwarfed; it shouldn’t stop you from seeing yourself as attractive,” says Drew.
The girl stopped feeling a sense of shame for not meeting someone's expectations or generally accepted standards of beauty. Presta may not adorn the cover of Italian Vogue, but Drew definitely got the most important part of her modeling career - confidence and self-love.
The model is genuinely happy to be part of this business and hopes that her work will be able to inspire other people suffering from dwarfism for bold actions.
